Notes

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ

"Reciting Salawath on our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is an activity that will be accepted by Allah, even if we don't have Ikhlas (piety)".

[1] It appears from this that there is a great reward and spiritual benefit in doing good to animals or in supplying their needs. There is this difference that we have wisdom, while the beasts have not, but their bodies want what our bodies require. The injurious animals are an exception to this rule. On the contrary, there are rewards for killing such animals like snakes and tigers.

[2] It was the custom of the Arabs that if a vow was fulfilled or if somebody returned from journey or was curved from a disease; they set a she-camel at liberty to move freely without restriction. It is said that Amr introduced this evil custom and also developed idol worship in Arabia.
