Movies on the father-son bond are rare these days. ‘Santhosh Subramaniyam' will fill the void, says director Raja. Raja has established a name for himself coming out with successful films. The young director managed to hit the bull's eye with blockbusters including ‘Jeyam’, ‘M Kumaran S/O Mahalakshmi’ and ‘Unakkum Enakkum’.
‘Santhosh Subramaniyam' is unique for it dwells on a special bonding shared between a father and his son. Jayam Ravi plays the role of the son while Prakash Raj his father. Genelia and former international cricketer Sadagoppan Ramesh are also in the cast.
Produced by AGS Films International, the movie is ready to hit the screen. 'The greatest commercial value in contemporary films is love. So, we have depicted it in a different form in ‘Santhosh Subramaniyam'.
Devi Sri Prasad has scored the music. Raja says, 'He is talented and oozes with energy. He has come up with half-a-dozen songs that will top audio charts'.
A huge set replicating a house was put up at AVM Studios where a major portion of the movie was shot. The set was so realistic that those visited the shooting spot appreciated it, says Raja. Speaking on ‘Santhosh Subramaniyam', he says, 'with right guidance from my brother (Raja) and my father editor Mohan, I think I have done my best'.
Santhanam and Premji Gangai Amaran form part of the cast. Both expressed confidence that their humor would be received well.
Genelia, who had average outings in Tamil so far, is optimistic of her fortunes in ‘Santhosh Subramaniyam’. 'I am thankfull to the whole cast and crew of the movie. Shooting for the movie was a great joy and were together like a family'.
‘Santhosh Subramaniyam' will hit the screens this summer.
